Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Upon arrival in Arusha, you’ll be greeted by your safari guide and begin the journey to Tarangire National Park, about a 2-hour drive from Arusha. Spend the afternoon exploring the park, where you’ll witness large herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and giraffes. The park is also home to some of Tanzania’s most famous trees, the baobabs, which provide a unique backdrop for the wildlife. In the evening, check into a comfortable midrange lodge, where you’ll enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater and Maasai Cultural Visit
After an early breakfast, you will head to the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” This UNESCO World Heritage site offers a chance to view incredible wildlife like lions, rhinos, elephants, and wildebeests, all within a dramatic volcanic crater. Spend the day exploring the floor of the crater, stopping for a picnic lunch in one of the most scenic locations in Tanzania. In the late afternoon, visit a Maasai village, where you will learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Maasai people and their close relationship with nature. Return to Arusha in the evening for your departure or onward journey.
