Upon arrival in Arusha, you’ll be greeted by your safari guide and begin the journey to Tarangire National Park, about a 2-hour drive from Arusha. Spend the afternoon exploring the park, where you’ll witness large herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and giraffes. The park is also home to some of Tanzania’s most famous trees, the baobabs, which provide a unique backdrop for the wildlife. In the evening, check into a comfortable midrange lodge, where you’ll enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation.

Northern Circuit – Day 2

After breakfast, your guide and mountain crew will meet you at the hotel for a final briefing. You will then drive approximately 3–4 hours to Londorossi Gate (2,250 m / 7,380 ft) for registration and permits.

From there, the group continues by vehicle to the high-altitude drop-off point (3,414 m / 11,200 ft), where you’ll enjoy your first breathtaking views of the Shira Plateau.

A short and gentle trek leads to Shira 1 Camp, allowing your body to begin acclimatization naturally. Upon arrival, camp will be fully prepared with tents, seating, refreshments, and a hot dinner.
